Roof Insulation
Part L of the building regulations came into force in 2006 and this specifies demanding new energy conservation requirements. Thermal ‘U’ values now required are around 0.25 Wm2/k. Typically this translates to 100mm thick rigid PUR insulation which we now install on the vast majority of new build projects. With new technology the insulation element of a flat roof can also be designed to 1:80 or 1:60 falls to facilitate water drainage and we are installing ever increasing areas of complex schemed insulation with this dual purpose..
