Liquid applied roofing membranes are made from a range of polymer-based materials in a solvent or water base, often laid with a polyester scrim reinforcement. Liquid applied roofing is mainly used for refurbishment or remedial action on failed existing flat roofs. They are usually appropriate and cost effective when there is exceptional amount of plant, penetrations through the roof or services at low level making detailing with sheet systems impractical.
